17-Year-Old Girl Abducted and Raped by Two Men While Out for Groceries in Tripura’s Khowai District

A shocking incident has left the residents of Khowai district in Tripura reeling, after a 17-year-old girl was abducted and sexually assaulted by two men as she went out to purchase groceries in her local village of Tuikarma.

According to police sources, the event took place on the evening of July 28, 2025. The teenager, from Paschim Muslim Para area, left her home to visit a nearby shop. On her route, she was approached by two men, identified as Antar Miah and Hiran Miah. They forcibly took her to a secluded location, where both allegedly raped her. As she desperately screamed for help, some locals rushed towards the area, but the accused managed to flee before they arrived.

Despite the trauma, the victim managed to reach home and her family, shattered by the incident, immediately reported the matter at the local police station. An official FIR was lodged at Teliamura police station, and authorities launched a swift investigation into the case.

Within hours of the report, police tracked down and arrested Antar Miah, one of the accused. The second suspect, Hiran Miah, is currently still at large. Police have intensified efforts and launched a manhunt to apprehend him as quickly as possible.

The victim is currently undergoing medical examination and receiving necessary psychological support. Police have assured the community that the case will be handled with utmost sensitivity, and that further measures are being taken to ensure the safety of vulnerable residents.
