Manohar Dhakad Arrested After Viral Obscene Video Sparks Public Outrage in Madhya Pradesh

In a disturbing incident that has stirred public outrage, Manohar Dhakad from Bani village, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested on May 26, 2025, following the circulation of a viral video depicting him engaging in an obscene act on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Mandsaur. The footage, captured by newly installed CCTV cameras on the night of May 13, also shows Dhakad dancing with an unidentified woman on the highway.

The video’s emergence on social media platforms prompted swift action from the Mandsaur police, who registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including public obscenity and obstruction. A subsequent raid on Dhakad’s residence led to the seizure of the vehicle involved, although Dhakad was initially untraceable.

Upon his arrest, Dhakad underwent a three-hour interrogation but refrained from disclosing information about the woman featured in the video. Investigations have revealed a potential blackmail angle, with allegations that expressway control room personnel extorted ₹20,000 from Dhakad and released the videos online when he refused to pay additional sums.

This incident underscores the growing concerns over public decency and the misuse of surveillance footage. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify the woman involved and to determine the full extent of the blackmail scheme.

The case has also sparked discussions about the ethical responsibilities of those handling surveillance data and the importance of safeguarding individuals’ privacy rights. As the investigation unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of public misconduct and the imperative for accountability in the digital age.
